Hiya all :) Which Rims suits the City 2009??

Postby Chickenpie on Mon Apr 27, 2009 4:36 pm

Hi guys... I'm new to this forum.. :) hope to learn more from the sifus.. lol

I'm driving a Honda City 2009 E spec with Modulo Kits.. just got it 2 weeks back :) its superb..

So far i just got my car tinted ..hehe..

I was surveying for rims that might be suitable for this car... to me this car is sporty in a way yet classy... I'm unsure on what kind of rims that might suit this car.. Any ideas guys??

Rims are a personal choice, some people like bling ones, some people like simple ones. Some people like black rims with black car, while others like gold rims or even white ones with dark cars. My advice is, try to stay with 16". If you need to go to 17" the problem is, the FC will suffer badly. I have been contemplating whether to change to 17" or stay 16". If I go with 17", to stay the same diameter, I need to have 215/40/17 tires, which are very, very broad. This although will be nice for cornering, it would be very bad for my acceleration, braking and fuel consumption.

I am looking to lower the car first, then only think of changing rims. I saw a nice one in ENEOS and last weekend while changing my gf's car tires and rims, also saw a few nice ones for my City too :D

yup :) i found quite a number of nice rims for my City as well... but mostly are 5 lugs which cant fit :(..
I've also thought bout the FC which is why im looking for an Ori Japan Rim.. and 17" is gonna cost a bomb... and also tyres are gonna be costly ... damn :(
I'm looking for maybe gunmetal colour or black with silver outer linning :D

I wonder whats the weight of our current 16'' rims...

I've also thought of lowering the car .. but i would like to stick to comfort as it is now.. wonder which springs and abs would be good.. any recommendations? :)

but anyways the car is still new.. got a long way more to go before i would start modifying it... :S

and btw.. nizeguy.. you drove a sgti be4 this rite? :D i'm working with one of your ex-club member now.. hehe..

Chickenpie,

I was looking at some Lenso rims. The 17" Superlight ones are 7kg each. Not bad for 17" rims as most 16" x 6.5J are around 6 - 7kg. Funny thing is that 16"x7J are mostly below 7kg but not the 6.5J ones. Here are some samples.

Enkei RP-F1 Cast 17x7 15.0 6.8
OZ Superleggera Cast 17x7 15.2 6.9
BRIG Magline 10 Forged 17x7 15.3 6.9
Racing Sparco NT-R Cast 17x7 15.4 7.0
Enkei RS+M Cast 17x7 15.6 7.1
TommyKaira ProR Forged 17x7 15.9 7.2
5Zigen FN01R-C Cast 17x7 16.0 7.3
BBS RC Cast (soft) 17x7 16.0 7.3
OZ Ultraleggera Cast 17x7 16.0 7.3

The last number is in kg, the 2nd last number is in pounds.

just some copy n paste article about carbon fibre whell...gosh! for me it was superb....!

Full Carbon Fiber Wheels
Weds Sport a Japanese tuning company has now added to their wheel line 6 pound carbon fiber wheels. The wheels are made with the DRY Carbon Process and not the wet carbon process. If you are looking to buy a set this year you can expect to pay anywhere from 10 to 12 grand. Its not really a set of wheels you would want to smoke a pot hole in. That would be a easy $2500 dollar mistake. I’m guessing carbon fiber wheel repair is not something that even exists. I think this is the first time i seen carbon fiber wheels with the option to be in a full carbon 1 pc wheel.

 it is nice too nizeguy... how much it cost...? the Y shape likely to the original rims...
but this kinds of rims is more realistic for us to buy compared to that carbon fibre wheel...hehehe...

I'm not sure how much it costs but if its Lenso, its cheaper than those Japs ones since its made in Thailand. Quite a few nice ones from SSW, the Singapore made wheels too. Theres a few nices ones at http://www.conceptwheels.com too. Like this one one
